What is bagging?
Bagging is a wall treatment typically done on brick walls. A thin layer of mortar is applied to the face of the surface with some coarse material to giver your brick wall a secondary film of protection. It’s not exactly the same as rendering which delivers a smooth surface. Bagging still allows any imperfections and texture on the wall underneath it to shine through. You can find out the various reasons to use different wall treatments, and bagging has its own unique benefits. This gives your wall a new finish but with a kick of character! Bagging offers an alternative aesthetic and it’s very effective at protecting the bricks on the inside against wear and tear.
Benefits of bagging
Bagging is the lighter choice between it and rendering. It also uses a mixed formula, but it requires much less material. It’s also an easier, and possibly cheaper, job for a professional to do because its quicker to apply and less cumbersome. This means you’ll have to cough up less money for materials, making it more economical. After it’s application, expect a robust and long-lasting protective layer that can look great if left as is but it’s also great for painting.
