Are you looking to alter your home or commercial property’s attractiveness? Do you want long term impact that does not cost an arm and a leg? Then kick the paint bucket aside and get rendering! At Rapid Rendering, we have seen rendering designs transform the value and appeal of our client’s properties.
Over our many years in the business of rendering, we have discovered a theme of misconceptions surrounding the same three myths! And to be honest, we are over it! We do not want anyone making these mistakes and losing faith in the wonder of rendering.
So here are the three most common rendering myths, debunked and BUSTED. Because, we are truly passionate about the benefits of rendering and would not want our worst enemy to get this wrong.
“You can put render straight over paint” – Myth One
Nooo! Don’t do it, we beg you! If you are taking on a DIY rendering project do not skip the important process of preparing the surface (AKA removing any existing paint). If you hire a good renderer they will not render straight over the top of paint. Spreading render over paint prevents the material from bonding with the wall… this results in a weak interface and cuts the lifespan of your render job significantly.
So while skipping the paint removal process may seem like an easy way to cut costs, it will cost you more in the long run. After all, what is the point of a half-assed job? Sometimes quality does come at a higher cost, but in this instance it is an investment for your future!
“Any Renderer will do” – Myth Two
Just as you would carefully select the right builder to build your dream home, you should select the right renderer to revamp your home/commercial space. Rendering is not the easiest of tasks, in fact there are a magnitude of cement rendering techniques involved in the process. You want a renderer with experience, understanding of your wishes and a reputable portfolio.
To ensure quality workmanship, choose the best of the best to complete your job and while DIY projects are trending, we really encourage hiring an expert to render your property. Though if you do want to have a crack yourself, at LEAST, read Rapid Rendering’s guide on how to render a wall first, find – here.
“You can only rendering during Summer” – Myth Three
This myth comes as no surprise, we receive a LOT more rending requests during the Summer months. But the fact of the matter is you can render in Winter! While it is true that dry conditions are essential for speeding up the drying process, Winter can provide ideal conditions particularly in Australia.
The only time to avoid rendering is during the rainy season, which surprise surprise is typically close to Summer time! The experts at Rapid Rendering will forecast whether your requested time period will be suitable, considering likeliness of rain or fog and ensuring your render has the suitable conditions to dry perfectly. Because why would you want to limit yourself to three months?!
In reality, these three common myths simply are not true! And to be frank, they are giving us renderers a bit of a headache. So all in all, do NOT render straight over paint, pick your renderer wisely and you can render outside of Summer! Once you understand how cement rendering can help you and everything you need to know about it, then give us a call at Rapid Rendering to make your place look better than ever.
